The Fritz Alkalinity (KH) Test Kit is designed to measure the carbonate hardness, or alkalinity (KH), of your aquarium water, which plays a crucial role in maintaining stable pH levels and overall water quality.
Key Features:
Dual Compatibility: Suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Comprehensive Instructions: Provides clear guidelines to help users accurately assess alkalinity levels.
Efficient Reagent System: Utilizes a drop-based reagent method to ensure precise measurements.
Testing Procedure:
Sample Preparation: Fill a clean test tube with 5 ml of the water sample to be tested, up to the indicated line.
Adding Reagents: Holding the KH Reagent Solution dropper bottle upside down in a completely vertical position, add one drop at a time to the test tube. Cap the test tube and gently shake between drops. Ensure you count the drops as they are added.
Completion: The test is complete when the water in the test tube turns from blue to yellow after gentle shaking. If you have difficulty discerning the color change, remove the cap and, while holding the test tube over a white background, look down through the tube.
