Product Detail

Simplicity GFO (granular ferric oxide) safely adsorbs phosphates, silicate, and dissolved organics, improving coral health and coloration and reducing nuisance algae.

Effectively removes phosphate, silicate, and dissolved organics
Improves coral health and water clarity
Will not leach nutrients back into the water column
Safe for use in fresh and saltwater aquariums
Eliminates Excess Phosphate
GFO binds and traps excess phosphate, silicate, and other chemicals in the water column, enhancing water quality and clarity.

Improves Coral Health
In proper concentrations, phosphate is essential to coral metabolism and growth. However, in high concentrations, phosphate cripples coral growth and fuels algae.

Safe
It locks away adsorbed phosphate, silicate, and dissolved organics within the media and prevents them from leaching back into the aquarium water.

Specifications
Aquarium Type: Fresh and saltwater aquariums
How Much to Use: Start with ½ cup per 50 gallons for a saltwater aquarium and ½ cup per 100 gallons for a freshwater aquarium. Gradually increase the amount over time as needed. Do not use more than ½ cup per 25 gallons for saltwater and ½ cup per 50 gallons for freshwater.

How to Use: Rinse before use. For best results, use a filter media reactor. The media in the reactor should barely move at the top. It should not tumble, which would grind particles into a powder. The resulting powder can be dangerous to fish and corals. It can also work in a tightly packed filter media bag in a high-flow area of the sump or filter.

Recommended Replacement Schedule: Test phosphate weekly and completely change out when phosphate levels begin to rise. As a general rule of thumb, this is every 4 weeks.
Available Sizes: 0.5 lb (8 oz), 1.0 lb (16 oz), 2.0 lb (32 oz), 20.0 lb
